‘Twas a Moroccan Night

Standard

A week and a half ago my son and I went back to the East coast to visit family and friends. It was a whirlwind of 9 days. We only sat still one day. The last night of trip, one of my “bestest” friends, who happens to be my son’s godfather, and his lovely wife, took us go kart racing and to dinner in NYC. When we got home I told my little guy that we had to make a card for them saying thank you. Since I’ve been wanting to use my Moroccan Nights stamp since I got it, I used that as a background. Well simply because I live it and find the stamp set exotic. Here’s what we came up with.

For You…Thoughtful Branches

Standard

While sitting at home tonight wondering what to do (so many chores). At around 9:15pm I decided I was going to make a card. I wasn’t sure what I wanted or how I wanted it but it finally came to fruition and I kinda like it :-). I used the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and die cuts along with wild wasabi cardstock, wisteria wonder cardstock and a window sheet. Hope you kinda like it like I do 🙂

Sitting Here

Standard

I contemplated so hard whether to get this stamp set or not. I love it but I felt the sentiments weren’t exact to my needs. I am so glad I did get it. I made the card below using the Sitting Here stamp set and the Sheltering Tree set. I wasn’t sure what or who I would give the card to. However, one of my very good friends that also loves papercrafting and introduced me to stamping was having her birthday party. I didn’t have time to make her a card and the first card that popped into my mind was this one. Let’s just say it spoke to how I was feeling at the time. It doesn’t say happy birthday but the heartfelt message I wrote on the inside said so much. She loves it. So here’s my card.

Back at it Again!!!

Standard

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on my blog. But I’m back and I’m ready to stay :-). Last year was a trying year but things have been looking up for me this year and I’m getting back into the swing of things. I hope you, my readers, will stick it out with me and visit to see the cards or projects I’ve created and plan on creating. 2016-07-19 14_14_23-Clipboard

Beyond Excited!!!

Standard

I am so excited to be attending my very first Stampin’ Up convention this year. Can’t wait to meet all the demonstrators there and experience the love and excitement everyone else has for Stampin’ Up. The convention will be July 23rd – 25th in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’ve never been to Utah before either so this will also be a first for me.

Convention, here I come

Creative Blog Hop!!

Creative Blog Hop!!

I am so honored to have been nominated to participate in this week’s blog hop. I don’t get the time to post a lot but my dear friend Michelle at Stampin365 nominated me.

I decided to create a simple birthday card in honor of my son who turned 9 on Saturday. The card I created is using the stamp set I received for free from Sale-a-Bration (place an order for $50 and receive a free stamp set, paper or embellishments from the sale-a-bration catalog). Who doesn’t like free stuff? I know I enjoy getting free stamp sets all the time.

The stamp set I chose to use was the Big Day set and I used the chalk stamps and stamped on the chalkboard paper. I decided to embellish with some banners and orange sequins from my Halloween Paper Pumpkin set.

Now, to the questions that I have to answer:

1. What are you working on?

Besides, this card that I made for my son, this week I’m working on making little candy bags for my son’s Valentine’s Day class party. I’m using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to make these. Those will be posted once they are complete

2. How does your style differ from others in your genre?

I wouldn’t necessarily say my style is much different because one day I may choose to make a “clean” card but another day I may choose to use some embellishments. I guess if there’s one thing to chose though would be that I don’t use a lot of embellishments. I haven’t mastered those yet.

3. Why do you create what you do?

I love making cards. I used to be a scrapbooker and now I’m addicted to card making. I like the idea of sending someone a handmade card. Thinking of a creation for friends and family that is special to them because something about them triggered your creation is wonderful. Making cards also puts me in a peaceful place. It relaxes me.

4. How does your creative process work?

I have found myself drawing ideas sometimes but they are usually based on ideas I’ve seen around the internet.

Now I have the privilege of nominating one of my favorite bloggers. I found it hard to find two people because it seems many demonstrators are already a part of this blog hop. However, I did find one of my favorites. Ginger at Ginger Stamps. Please check her out. Her blog is a lot of fun. Her post will be on February 16th. Visit her and see what she has going on on her blog and make sure to visit back on the 16th.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Happy stamping friends

Loving Life with Lemons

Loving Life with Lemons

It has been a while since I blogged something. With the holidays I thought it would be easy because I was creating projects and cards. But for some reason I felt absolutely overwhelmed. However, it’s a new year and I’m trying to embrace it fully. I am going to try to post a blog post at least once a week this year. Let’s hope I can keep up.

With that said, here is my first post of 2015.

Today my, upline and I met for our monthly Demonstrator day. On our monthly meetings, we usually discuss the new catalogs, new products and any changes within Stampin’ Up. We also try to discuss our goals for the year and of course we take time to make something.

Today we used one of the free stamp sets from our SALE-A-BRATION catalog (With every $50 purchase from our Annual Catalog or Occasions Catalog, you earn a free product from our Sale-A-Bration Catalog). The stamp set we used is called A Happy Thing Stamp Set. When I first saw this stamp set, I wasn’t sure I would know what to do with it. I ended up CASE-ing Michelle’s sample, you can see hers at Stampin 365. I had so much fun making this card. I did change mine a bit and you can see the differences below. I have to say, I think I’ve found a new stamp I love.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!!!!

Standard
Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!!!!

Have you ever been in need of a gift box and just don’t have one handy? You then go to the store and they either have boxes too big or maybe too small or just not the right shape for what you need. I know I have. It usually happens when I’m buying smaller gifts. Well, I have found a solution!!! It’s called the Gift Box Punch Board. You can make up to 15 different box sizes. How fun is that!

I have a Meetup event at the end of the month where I’m partnering with another organizer to make holiday candy and boxes/tags. I will be teaching some folks how to make boxes and tags for their candy. I decided to make a couple samples so that I can prepare myself mentally. I’m not very good at tying bows, so I used the Envelope Punch Board to create my bow for one box and I used my Merry Everything stamp set and Tag Punch to create my tag.

Happy Tuesday Stampers!!!

I have finally decided to start a blog so that I can share all the projects that I have been making using my fabulous Stampin’ Up products. This is my very first blog post here, but not my first time blogging. I used to blog book reviews but as I have not been reading much that has dwindled. However, it is something I have missed doing. So here I am, starting anew with one of my other passions…paper crafting.

For my first post, I wanted to create a project with not only a couple of my favorite stamp sets, Merry Everything and For All Things from the holiday catalog, but also to express how grateful I am to have you visit my blog.

Today’s project is what I call an envelope card. I created the base of the card using the Envelope Punch Board and when folded it looks just like an envelope. You can create an envelope a little bigger than the card and use it to mail with or place a band around it, like I have done, and hand deliver.
